A classic response - I need to mind my own business

So, you think the above reponse is a classic one? Trust me it's outdated. There's a more classic one.

Don't you get sick and tired of people asking you when you are getting married! It's annoying and frustrating! You don't know what their reasons are - they might be genuinely concerned, mocking you or just asking for no apparent reason. It hurts like here, trust me because I have been there.

Unless, the shoe is on the other foot, you may never know how much it hurts. Yesterday, one of the male doctors really gave it to me ooooo, and I have vowed never to ask no matter how genuinely concerned I am.

It was unusual to see him 'start' at 6 pm and when I asked him why he came at 6 pm, he said that he came to tidy up some things and that he was in a rush because he did not want to miss his date with his gorgeous fiancé.

I was thrilled when he mentioned fiancé because the lady in question is such a nice person. When I asked him when they would be getting married, he defensively said, 'we are happily unmarried'

That really put me in my place. The hidden message was ' mind your business and stop minding ours - we are happily unmarried and enjoying every minute of it'.

Classic!!

I have learned never to ask but if someone asks you, just say 'we are happily unmarried'. That's politely classic and tactful!
