Why do you have cold hands and feet when your temperature is high?

The above question is one that I get asked often Nurse, why are my hands and feet cold while the rest of me is burning up? I'm sure some of you have asked that question before. Do you know why? Please, find out ..................

Answer
When the body is fighting infection or illness, the blood leaves the least important parts of the body ie hands and feet, to protect the most important organs, heart lungs etc, which is why normally they have a burning chest and back and cold feet
